Ostanin Nikifor
In 2010 graduated from St.-Petersburg state university, faculity of geography. My research interests include geoinformatics, remote sensing, ecology and information modelling. Since 2014 participate in several projects for remote study of Gulf of Finland coastal zone ecology. Currentl I’m full stack developer of 3d-GIS for industry. Scientific interest of past year is semi-automatic data and geodata processing, geostatistics and maschine learning. |
Eugenia K. Lange
Researcher of Laboratory of marine ecology, Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Russian Academy of Science.
Member of HELCOM Phytoplankton Expert Group (HELCOM PEG).
Graduated from: Faculty of Biology, Saint-Petersburg State University.
Postgraduate studies: Saint Petersburg branch of the FSBSI «VNIRO» («GosNIORKH» named after L.S. Berg»).
Research interests include studying the influence of natural conditions and anthropogenic impact on the structure and functioning of marine and surface waters phytoplankton communities.
In the framework of the project, in order to identify marine invasive species of microalgae, their possible sources and distribution paths, as well as to study modern biodiversity, during the growing season of 2019 phytoplankton and periphyton samples were collected and now are analyzing. Samples were collected in areas of the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland that are most vulnerable to invasion (the Koporye Bay near the Leningrad NPP, Ust-Luga MP, the Narva Bay, MTP Primorsk, etc.).
2019
Preparing for the field season.
Data on additional collected phytoplankton samples were entered into the general database (Field SPBRC July_September 2019_OM_ET AL.xlsx).
A list of harmful dominant phytoplankton species in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland has been compiled, indicating environmental characteristics and toxic effects.
According to open sources, a list of alien algoflora species in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland has been prepared.
Processing of phytoplankton samples.
